In the News…

“Those delicious creatures that inhabit the bay” take the form of “buttery” crab cakes “full of giant lumps” and “to-die-for” crab soup at this “expensive”, “open and airy” “touch of fine dining” in Kent Narrows; the other seafood offerings are “fabulous” too, and “spectacular” waterfront views are supported by “impeccable” service.”

— ZAGAT, 2014

“The purest of all the crab cakes we tried were at the Narrows. It’s not the biggest but, its flavor is gigantic.”

— Gourmet, 2009

“For crab cakes, The Narrows Restaurant, near the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Step inside the waterside building — more upscale than most crab joints — and ask to be seated on the glassed-in porch. Watch sloops glide by and herons fly. Order an award-winning jumbo lump crab cake and try not to wolf down the golden-brown broiled dome kissed with mayo, mustard and Worcester and Tabasco sauce. Like the best crab cakes, it has virtually no filler — just a bit of cracker meal.”

— USA Today, 2011

“Great Road Food Destinations…. the Chesapeake Bay is blue crab territory. Head to the Eastern Shore for two great places to indulge while soaking up the scenery: The Narrows Restaurant in Grasonville, Md., which offers both spectacular views and a delicious cream of crab soup, served with a side of sherry to mix in.”

— PARADE Magazine, 2012

“For crab cakes, you can’t beat The Narrows….”

Eat Your Way To the Beach: “I sit at the bar, which overlooks the narrows (a-hah!) separating Kent Island from the mainland. The soup is good. No, the soup is great. The broth is rich, the dash of pepper just right, the crab meat clumped in thick lumps. The best I’ve ever had, to be sure.”

“The GREAT SERVICE is what stood out the most, the food was great but the service was even better.”

Paul L., Lancaster, PA

First and foremost...fantastic service. Came in for an early dinner without a reservation and we were seated immediately with a great view. The waitstaff was exceptionally attentive and friendly. The food was great including my mushroom and crab risotto. The dessert was also yummy!
